Some great news in challenging times! We’re so excited to tell you that, Sol, Head of our Kitchen Garden Enterprise and Georgina, our Executive Director are two of 71 leaders across England who have been selected for a competitive learning programme and grant of up to £10,000.
The Community Business Trade Up Programme is run by The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), in partnership with Power to Change, and this week we joined a nine-month learning programme and met (online) our fellow community business leaders from across the West Country for our first virtual training session. We are all either launching or scaling up our new social enterprises and it was inspiring to hear what people are doing in their communities, both before and during the Covid-19 lockdown.
As well as our structured learning days, we will receive a Match Trading grant of up to £10,000 that will support us to increase our income. This is a game changer for Heart of BS13 and our Kitchen Garden Enterprise, and will take us to the next level in terms of what we can offer within the BS13 community.
We feel really proud to have been chosen by SSE, which helps 1,000 people a year develop the skills, strengths and networks they need to tackle society’s biggest problems. They run courses that equip people to start, scale and strengthen organisations that make a positive difference, and we can’t wait to put the lessons and skills we will gain on the programme into action in BS13.
