Community Volunteering

We’re looking for volunteers from BS13 who can support our work at different times of the year and who bring a wide range of skills to each programme.  Volunteering can be ongoing, over many months, or can be one-off if we have specific projects that we want to complete.

Volunteer with The Kitchen Garden Enterprise
We currently need people with an interest in developing horticulture skills to help us grow our Kitchen Garden Enterprise.  You will learn propagation and plant care and will hone your skills to become a vital part of our new cut flower business. Our environmental spaces need constant care, so we are always on the look-out for people who have a special interest in grounds maintenance and environmental management.  You will help us to look after our orchard and wild meadow as well as to maintain our gardens and outbuildings. Please contact Sol on 07762092648 or  for more information.

Help prevent holiday hunger
Every year we run a holiday-hunger prevention programme to support children during the summer holidays when schools are closed and free school meals are no longer available.  We need volunteer cooks to help prepare and cook the meals each week. You will learn to cater for large numbers of people, and have the opportunity to gain a level 2 Food Safety qualification, while working in a dedicated small team to support this vital community programme. Please contact Rachel on 07442252364 or if you have some cookery knowledge and are interested in getting involved.

Campfire Cooking Volunteer
We are seeking a volunteer to support our Campfire Cooking programme, which offers children and young people the opportunity to develop practical cookery skills and connect to nature through growing and cooking seasonal food. We need a volunteer who will assist on the programme, including offering practical and emotional support to the children, role modelling positive behaviour, maintaining safety procedures, and preparing/tidying the space. Through this you will have the opportunity to develop your facilitation skills and learn about cooking in the outdoors. If you enjoy working with children, food and being outdoors, please contact Kirsty on on 07591636490 or for more information.

Events volunteers for Making BS13 Brilliant Days
We are seeking volunteers to help make our monthly Making BS13 Brilliant Days as amazing as possible – and we need YOU! We will be running a series of these family-friendly events at the Roundhouse throughout the summer,  promoting ways we can individually and collectively improve our community and environment. Volunteers are needed to run / support workshops, sign people in, prepare the space, research information, make beautiful decorations and more. Please contact Kirsty on 07591636490 or for more information.
