The Kitchen Garden Enterprise invests back into BS13, creating vocational training and horticulture activities for all ages.
We want to share our passion for locally grown vegetables and flowers with you! The veg we grow goes into our food and nutrition programmes, which help us address health inequality and food insecurity in BS13. It’s also available for the local community to buy in our shop, or can be ordered online via our veg box scheme. We sell our cut flowers to restaurants and businesses in Bristol and we offer a choose-your-own-wedding-flowers package. We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of global agriculture by offering sustainable, local, chemical-free produce.
Welcome to our kitchen garden
The Kitchen Garden Enterprise offers gardening and growing workshops to people from BS13. We have a team of dedicated volunteers, mostly from the BS13 area. Volunteers gain employability-skills training as well as specific horticulture knowledge. We also offer a variety of therapeutic horticultural programmes that are tailored to participants – including school groups, adults referred through our Positive Minds team, and from other statutory or third sector agencies in the area. Volunteers tell us that getting involved with the garden helps to develop personal skills and confidence; improves emotional and physical health; and helps them to feel part of a bigger community.
The Kitchen Garden Enterprise also offers a range of seasonal workshops – including bouquet-making, Christmas crafts, pumpkin carving, and corporate team-building away days.
