Impact on our current activities
The evolving Covid-19 situation means that we are running our programmes differently at the moment.
We will continue to work in the KGE as we come out of Lockdown, but we are only able to have 5 people spread out across the site on any working day. We have the following restrictions in place to make us Covid-safe.
Staff and volunteers MUST work 4 meters apart at all times
We are currently restricting numbers of volunteers allowed into the gardens
No food or drinks are to be shared or provided
Any person experiencing symptoms is to self-isolate as per government guidelines
Hand sanitizer is available around the site
Regular cleaning schedules are in place for shared spaces
Working days are Monday – Wednesday, 9-1pm
In order to keep our numbers within these restrictions, we ask anyone who wishes to volunteer at the garden to email us in advance.
Positive Minds offers sessions for people who are struggling with post lockdown anxiety and feeling overwhelmed getting out and about. For more information about our new 1:1 ‘Walk and Talk’ sessions please contact Judy.
Our Positive Minds counselling and psychotherapy service is currently operating a waiting list please call Helen to have a chat about your current needs and what we can offer you.
We are excited to announce that Field to Fork Cookery Sessions at the KGE will be starting on 6th April 2021.
In our spacious and social-distance friendly field kitchen, we will be running weekly cooking sessions where you can harvest, prepare, and cook vegetables and herbs straight from the garden into simple and tasty dishes.
These free courses will last for 6 weeks and will take place every Tuesday. Choose between a morning or afternoon session from 10 am – 12 noon or 1 pm – 3 pm. Courses are open to BS13 residents.
To book your place call Caroline on 07469206886 (Mondays or Tuesdays) or email firstname.lastname@example.org and be quick, spaces are limited!
See you in the garden for some Field Kitchen fun!

Can you help fund our food response?
The Real Meal Store at Heart of BS13 is responding to the Covid-19 pandemic in the best way we know-how. We’re working in partnership with schools, organisations and community workers from BS13 to offer cooked meals to people who need them. We know that there are many, many people living in a financially precarious or personally vulnerable situation who can use help to stretch their household budget and we’re here for them.
We are cooking and distributing hundreds of meals a week and we hope that you will donate to this vital work. You can find out more about what we are doing here.
We’re writing a regular blog to update you on our cooking for Covid-19 work.
